The Truth That Sets No One Free

It’s never the lies you keep inside that eat at you. It’s the truths. The things we know are true, but don’t say. The times when we don’t speak up when we see something wrong. I guess Shakespeare was on about it when he wrote something like “Conscience makes cowards of us all.”

I have a list of topics I have agreed not to write about. Not because they are foul or harmful, or even pornographic. But because they’re the absolute truth.

And the truth is dangerous.

So, I say nothing. Which is entirely unlike me. And no one else says anything. And we all know what’s happening and no one speaks up.

Now I know from experience most people aren’t going to say anything. But myself. It’s a heavy burden to say nothing. It feels wrong.

That’s all.
